There is a long piece of land that goes into the rough Bass Strait ocean to protect the quieter Port Phillip Bay. The coast of this land is shaped by strong winds and big waves that crash into it. This has caused the softer parts of the land to be worn away and show the harder blue-black rocks underneath.
