The wetlands provide a serene contrast to the coastline, with opportunities to observe native birdlife and the natural beauty of the surrounding marshlands, making it a perfect blend of coastal and wetland environments. No dogs allowed on the beach from 1 November until 31 March between 10 am and 7:30 pm. 5.5 hours.

Although the write-up says that dogs are allowed, there is little opportunity for dogs off-leash on this walk. Also carefully consider the seasonal/time restrictions on the beaches if doing this walk with a dog over the warmer months. I did the walk in reverse, only to find when I got to the beach that dogs were prohibited between 10:30am and 7:30pm. This meant a long and boring walk back to the car along Napeon Hwy. Very disappointing when I'd travelled especially to do this walk.
